1. Select two materials. Concrete and wood for example.

2. Complete the form with project-specific info about the materials. Quantity used, transport distance, etc.

3. Click 'Compare' to determine the most 'climate-friendly' material option.

Methodology and data

Musgum is powered by the Carbo Code (free download at www.climatecture.com). The emission factors used in the calculations come from the ICE database (www.circularecology.com).

The service life of the reference building is 60 years. Carbon uptake during the formation of wood materials is not taken into consideration. To compensate, carbon emissions from the combustion of wood materials are considered zero.
